LUBRICATION – UPPER & LOWER RECEIVERS…Upper Receiver…Lightly Lubricate the inside of Upper Receiver, the Bore and Chamber (using the cleaning rodand a patch), the outer surfaces of the Barrel and Front Sight, and surfaces under the Handguards.Be sure you lubricate in and around all the Locking Lugs(as in photo above). The Forward Assist should also belightly lubed inside the Receiver and checked forfunction.Front Sight Detent: Depress and apply two or threedrops of CLP to it. Depress the detent severaItimes to work the lubricant down into the Spring.FRONTSIGHTDETENTLower Receiver…Lower Receiver Extension: Lightly lubricate inside theLower Receiver Extension (Buffer Tube), the Buffer andthe Action Spring. Also lightly lubricate the TelestockLatch and exterior of the Receiver Extension.Lower Receiver: Generouslylubricate ALL MOVING PARTSINSIDE THE LOWER RECEIVERincluding the Trigger, Hammer,Safety, Bolt Catch, MagazineRelease, etc), and theirvarious Pins and Detents. Don'tforget the Takedown and PivotPins and their Detents. Use anoiled rag to wipe off anyfingerprints on the exteriorsurfaces (they can start thecorrosion process). LUBRICATION – BOLT CARRIER GROUP…Firing Pin: Lightly lubricate theFiring Pin with CLP - also theFiring Pin recess in the Bolt.SLIDE RAIL AREAS (each side)Bolt Carrier: Lightly lubricate theinner and outer surfaces of theBolt Carrier. Generously lubricatethe Cam Pin area and the “Slide”Rail areas of the Bolt Carrierwhere they contact the inside ofthe Receiver.Bolt: Generously lubricate the Bolt,its Cam Pin area, the Bolt GasRings. A lighter application isgood on the Extractor and it’s Pin.Charging Handle: Lightly lubricatethe Charging Handle and it’s Latchand Spring.LATCHCarrier Key: The inside of theCarrier Key on the Bolt Carriershould be dried with a Q-Tip orPipe Cleaner - then place one dropof CLP inside.CARRIER KEYPAGE 25Manufactured by Head Down Products
