Inter SchoolLeague.Erin’s Own Ladies Football & Camogie ClubHope this newsletter finds you all well and enjoying the summer.It is full steam ahead as usual in the Erin`s Own Ladies club. Allage group are well into their leagues and by all accounts, doingextremely well. With the good weather to help us along, trainingand matches are all going to schedule. The dedication from allgirls to their teams is fantastic. Girls only taking breaks whenthey go away otherwise its 110% commitment.Here is an up to date of all going on in the Ladies Club since thelast newsletter.SCRAP SATURDAY.This was the 1 st major fundraiser held by the ladies club. It was afantastic success. On behalf of Eamonn, Tim-Pat, Ken, Catherine,Pat and myself we would like to thank everyone for their input tothis event. Thank you to the senior club for letting us hold thefundraiser on the grounds.As a result of the success of this fundraiser, we find ourselves in aposition to give a donation to Niall Mc Intyre`s School CoachingScheme of €500.00 .Niall does some fantastic work with the girls in the school andthe results can been seen on the pitch.On the 23 rd June, abeautiful summers day upin Erin`s own, all 4 schoolsof the parish converged toplay each other. The girlswere mainly U10 & 12. Therivalry started immediatelywith friendly banterbetween the girls. It had tobe said that Niamh (LittleIsland teacher) &Catherine (U12 Coach)were a little bias towardsLittle Island School. Theywere more excited with thewin than the girls were. Nofavouritism there ladies!Seeing EO team memberson opposite sides playingagainst each other was veryentertaining. Well done toGlounthane who won theShield and Little Islandwon the Plate.But when all was said anddone there was plenty ofhugs and shake hands to agroup of girls who wentback to been an Erin`sOwn team again.

Due to lack ofnumbers over the last number of years we had to merged withCarrigtwohill so our girls got to play. This now gives the girlscoming up a great future that we should now be in a position tofield a Minor & Junior team in the future.On our first outing with this 13 aside team, we played Midletonat home. It was a super evening and all the ladies gave their all.We won the game well and fair play to Midleton who didn’tmake it easy for us. Well done to Niamh & Diarmuid for takingon the extra reasonability of training this group of ladies.Continued success ladies.U13 CAMOGIE.This year the East CorkBoard introduced a newleague for U13 teams. Wewere delighted to fill thisposition with girls eager toplay in competition. Erin`s Own Vs Castlemarytr East Cork Semi-final. Ladies Under <strong>14</strong>It was an exciting evening on the grounds at home, when our girls arrived fortheir warm up at 6pm. Everyone was buzzing with the semi - final match ahead.We worked hard to get here.Throw in by referee Dominic Rooney was at 7pm. We won the toss so playedwith the setting sun to our backs. Castlemarytr got the first goal in the 8thminute. This was our wake up call. We then claimed back 4 points from frees.The play was 50/50 all through the 1st half, even with us putting 6 wide`s, dueto a cross wind on the pitch .We went into half time with a draw.Kilian Murphy About to scorea point from the middle ofthe field against Glen Roversin the senior hurling league.We started the second half well by getting a goal in the 2nd minute, which liftedthe girl`s spirits. Castlemarytr then took charge by getting 4 points from frees.From their next free they put the ball in the top corner of the net.The setting sun was still in the sky and the conditions were hard on the girl`seyes.
