The thermaltreatment process consists of heating wood to temperaturesexceeding its spontaneous combustion temperature with thewater vapour present having a protective function. A naturalprocess, the varying temperatures, varying treatmentduration and varying drying techniques require no chemicaladditives and impart new properties to the treated wood.Through the treatment applied, the timber is less proneto absorb or lose moisture, helping to restrict the potentialfor swelling, shrinkage or distortion.During the thermal treatment process, the wood alsoacquires a beautiful brown colour and its velvet-like surfaceis pleasant to the touch.
