<strong>REQUEST</strong> <strong>FOR</strong> <strong>QUOTATION</strong><strong>The</strong> <strong>Office</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Disaster</strong> Preparedness and Emergency Management (<strong>ODPEM</strong>) isrequesting quotations to design/build, supply materials, fabricate and install three (3)industrial railway (road closure) type gates at specific locations within the Bog WalkGorge. <strong>The</strong> gates should be built to operate manually, with the ability to be upgraded toan electronic/automatic opening and closing system with the capability to be operatedremotely.Attached for your perusal, please see detailed specifications and special requirements.Quotations should be addressed to:“Gate – Bog Walk Gorge”<strong>The</strong> Procurement <strong>Office</strong>r<strong>Office</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Disaster</strong> Preparedness Emergency Management,12 Camp Road,Kingston 4.Quotations may also be faxed to the procurement <strong>of</strong>ficer at: 928- 5503 or emailed toemclean@odpem.org.jm. Gate #2, 40 feet Close to Kent Village Community Gate #3, 35 feet Southern Entrance/exit to Gorge – Adjacent to “Dam Head”National Irrigation Commission Facility. Gate Heights must not be more than 4.5 feet. Gates should be Double swing with high security Tamper pro<strong>of</strong> lockingMechanism.
<strong>The</strong> weight <strong>of</strong> the Gates must be noted by the contractor so the appropriateMotors and related components can be selected for proper Installation andoperation, when required to upgrading to an electronic system.Special Requirements: Gates should be painted in reflective colors approved by the <strong>ODPEM</strong> inconsultation by the National Works Agency (NWA) on completion <strong>of</strong>installation. All cost associated with engineering or construction works required forinstallation (to include but not limited to – excavation <strong>of</strong> road way, and reinstatement<strong>of</strong> road surface) shall be at cost to the contractor and factored intoquotations provided. All engineering/constructions plans/drawings required by the relevantgovernment entities (in relation to this project) shall be provided by thecontractor and incorporated in quotations provided. <strong>The</strong> <strong>ODPEM</strong> shall be required to submit plans/drawings to relevant agenciesfor approval with or without conditions prior to commencement <strong>of</strong> installationworksN.B: <strong>The</strong> <strong>ODPEM</strong> reserves the right to accept or reject any quotation.
