Displays and Menus 19Chapter 2Displays and MenusThe <strong>OptiMelt</strong> has a menu driven, touchscreen user interface. To activate an on-screen button, simplytouch the LCD display over the button area.There are four main display screens – Melt, Timer, T meter and <strong>System</strong>. The Melt screen is used toperform melting point determinations. The Timer screen is used to access the three configurable timersbuilt into the instrument. The T meter screen is used to display temperatures from an externalthermometer connected to <strong>OptiMelt</strong>. The <strong>System</strong> screen is used to setup various operating parameterssuch as remote interface, printing, date/time, camera alignment and temperature scale calibration.Displays are accessed via the Tabs displayed at the top of the Touchscreen/LCD display. Within eachscreen, there are specific menu buttons used to configure data acquisition and display.Menu ButtonsThe <strong>OptiMelt</strong> uses various types of buttons to navigate the menu system and enter orchange parameters.TabsThere are four tabs, permanently displayed on the top edge of the screen,which are used to access the different functions of the <strong>OptiMelt</strong>: Melt,Timer, T meter and <strong>System</strong>.SubmenuDisplay a submenu. Use the submenu to access parameters that do not fit orbelong on the top level screen.ChooseDisplay a multiple choice selection list.
