14 Getting Started Chapter 1If none of the available drivers works properly with your printer, consult the printer’suser manual and use the individual: Baud, Word Length, Parity, Flow Control andLineFeed settings to program your printer interface. Most printers also include dipswitchesthat the user can access to adjust communication settings to match thesettings used by the <strong>OptiMelt</strong> drivers.4. Touch the Test print button to transmit the string “SRS OPTIMELT” to the printeroutput buffer.The text should be printed out if (1) the proper printer driver is selected, (2) thecables are properly connected, (3) the printer switches are properly set and (4) theprinter is turned on and on-line.TipUse the Test print button to test the integrity of your printer interface and to makesure the proper printer driver, cable connection and printer settings are selected.5. Touch the Melt Tab to access the Melt Screen.6. Touch the Options button to access the Options menu.7. Touch the Printout button and choose between Manual or Automatic printout of thefinal Test Report generated at the end of each melt.Manual means that the user must manually display and printout Reports from theReport Screen after the melting point determination is completed.Auto means that <strong>OptiMelt</strong> automatically prints out a Report at the end of a meltingpoint determination whenever a printer is properly connected to the instrument.8.
