24,414 t. United States flag. Classification society American Bureau of <strong>Ship</strong>ping. Built in 1979<br />

in Lindo (Denmark) by Odense Staalskibs. in 1983 the ship is purchased by the United States<br />

navy, rebuilt by Bethlehem Steel Corp and activated with the US Military Sealift Command. Owned by<br />

Wilmington Trust Company (United States). Sold for demolition in India. 436 $ per ton. See p 2, United<br />

Al Salmy 2 (ex-Touggourt). IMO 7533161. Ro-Ro. Length 123 m, 4,638 t. Comorian flag.<br />

Unknown classification society. Built in 1977 in Niigata (Japan) by Niigata Engineering. Owned<br />

by Salem Al Makrani Cargo Co (United Arab Emirates). Sold for demolition in India. 392 $ per<br />

ton.<br />

Atlantis (ex-Niledutch Atlantic, ex-Sangwin, ex-Sassandra, ex-Atlantic<br />

Arrow, ex-CGM Ronsard, ex-Ronsard). IMO 7702889. Ro-Ro. Length 213<br />

m, 14,835 t. Netherlands Antilles flag. Classification society RINA. Built in<br />

1980 in La Ciotat (France) by Chantiers Navals de La Ciotat. Ordered by the Compagnie Générale<br />

Maritime, the Ronsard had four decks, with<br />

two running over the whole length of the<br />

ship, a 8,9 m high area for large-sized<br />

cargo and a stern quarter ramp 38 m long<br />

(cf. plan p 32). Owned by Anglo-Eastern<br />

UK (United Kingdom). Detained in 2007 in<br />

Lisbon (Portugal). Her sistership, the<br />

Niledutch Kwanza, ex-Ango, has just been<br />

sold for demolition. They both will meet<br />

again in India.<br />
