Drip more oil onhigher speed chains.If depth h from the surface of the oil to thelowest point the chain reaches is toodeep, the oil may heat up (80°C or higher)and deteriorate. The depth to which thechain descends in the oil should be about6 to 12 mm.The lowest point h reached by the slingerdisc should be about 12 to 25 mm belowthe surface of the oil. If the contact surfaces ofthe pins or bushes show tearing or a red or dark brown color, lubrication is generally not sufficient.161
