BioTector liquid analyzers are specifically developed for continuous analysis in the harshonline environment. BioTector’s patented self-cleaning oxidation technology (TSAO) hasovercome the traditional problems associated with online measurement and canreliably measure samples containing salts, particulates, fats, oils and greases. BioTectorproducts are regarded by major international users as the most reliable online liquidanalyzers on the market. Since 1995 BioTector analyzers have proven their ability ona wide variety of clean and dirty applications throughout the world.THE MEASUREMENT PROCESS CAN BE DESCRIBEDIN FIVE STAGESGENERAL INFORMATION12345SAMPLING: ltered sample from the stream to bemeasured is pumped into the analyzer. The sample injection valveautomatically selects the appropriate sample volume for the optimummeasuring range.TIC DETECTION: Acid is added to lower the pH so that inorganic carbonas CO 2 . This is measured to ensure Total Inorganic Carbon(TIC) is not carried over into the Total Organic Carbon (TOC).OXIDATION: BioTector’s patented oxidation method (TSAO) achievestotal and complete oxidation of the sample, including organic carbonto CO 2 , nitrogen compounds to nitrate and phosphorous compounds tophosphate. TSAO utilises hydroxyl radicals generated within the analyzerby combining oxygen, which passes through the ozone generator, withsodium hydroxide.TOC MEASUREMENT: To remove the CO 2 from the oxidized sample, thepH of the sample is lowered again. The CO 2 is sparged and measuredby the specially developed NDIR CO 2 analyzer. The result is displayed asTotal Organic Carbon (TOC).CLEANING: The entire system is automatically self-cleaned by the reactionprocess during every cycle. No additional cleaning solution is required.Designed to withstand corrosive environments, the BioTector TOC Analyzeris housed in a FRP enclosure with dual compartments to keep all electroniccomponents separate from the “wet” or analysis section. The BioTector TOCAnalyzer has an in-built microcontroller and is operated through a membraneguration updates, downloading of the data from the microcontroller and storage of reaction datafor the lifetime of the analyzer.ALSO AVAILABLE FROM BIOTECTORANALYTICAL SYSTEMS LIMITEDNEW BioTector System-C Online TOC Analyzerfor Clean Water Applications *BioTector Ultra Low TOC Online Analyzer *BioTector TOC & TN Online Analyzer *BioTector TOC, TN & TP Online Analyzer *MAINTENANCEBioTector Vacuum SamplersNormal service frequency is 6 months.
