OperationActivate:Reset:Emergency stopActivate: Press the red button on the control box.Reset: Turn the button in the direction indicatedby the arrows.Electrical emergency lowering/raisingThe lift arm is lowered/raised electrically bypressing one of the markings for “down” and “up”,respectively, on the operation panel.AReplacing the Hand Control BatteriesWhen the indicator A on the hand control flashes (yellow),the batteries in the hand control should be replaced. Use2 batteries of type AAA LR03 1.5 V, alkaline.Remove the back cover using a cross-head screwdriver.Replace the batteries. Refit the back cover.Installation of safety latchesAfter installation, check that the safety latch locksand runs freely in the sling bar hook.LockUnlockLocking the WheelsThe rear wheels can be locked to prevent rotating andturning. To lock the wheels, push down the lock pedal withyour foot. To disengage, press the raised button at the wheel. When lifting, the wheels should be unlocked so that the liftcan be moved to the patient’s centre of gravity. The wheelsshould be locked however, if there is a risk of the lift rollinginto the patient, for instance, when lifting from the floor.Mechanical emergency loweringEmergency lower by moving the handle marked”Emergency lowing” up and down. Repeat themotion until the patient in the lift is lowered ontoa firm surface; draw down the sling bar manuallyand continue to pump the handle until the slingbar is low enough to enable the sling’s strap loopsto be unhooked.Locked wheels during lifting can increasethe risk of tipping.Golvo Classic • 7EN140106-01w w w . l i k o . com

aAfter mechanical emergency lowering / Restoringthe lifting levelIf the lift strap has been lengthened due to using theemergency lowing function, the lift interval height willbe lower than previously. To restore maximum liftingheight, the lift strap must be reset to its original length.Do as follows:1. Unload the strap above the emergency loweringdevice. Do this by either placing the sling bar abovethe lift arm or by another person holding the sling barup so that the strap hangs loose.2. Lower and raise the handle marked ”Emergencylowering” with your left hand. At the same timetension the strap by turning the black knob (a)clockwise with your right hand. Repeat thisprocedure until the red mark on the strap is justabove the emergency lowering device.Adjustment of the lift interval levelIf it is necessary to reach a lower level with the slingbar, this can be arranged by lengthening the lift strapusing the mechanical emergency lowering device.Do not lengthen the strap more than necessary asthe highest obtainable lifting level is also affected. An example it would be advantageous to lower thelift interval is when lifting from the floor using a slingwhose strap loops do not reach up to the sling barhooks when the lift is in its lowest position.Do as follows: Push down the red emergencylowering handle at the same time as loading the slingbar (pull down the sling bar with your other hand). This extends the strap and the sling bar is lowered.Repeat until the required strap length is obtained.WRONG!WRONG!Avoid unbalanced liftingAlways ensure that the lift strap is vertical and parallelto the lift mast when lifting. To achieve this, think ofGolvo’s position under the bed. Adjust the width and/orplace Golvo differently under the bed to achieve thecorrect position.Do not lift when the load is unbalanced on the lift strapas this can cause instability as well as wear the strap.Unbalanced lifting poses a tipping risk!Parking the sling barWhen the lift is not in use or is being moved withouta load, it can be beneficial to place the sling barin the parking panel. The parking panel is intended for parking UniversalSlingBars 350, 450 and 600 (all models). When the sling bar is parked in the parkingpanel, the lift should not be raised since thiscould be dangerous and cause personnel injuryor damage to the lift if the sling bar should releaseand swing out from the panel.Golvo Classic • 7EN140106-01w w w . l i k o . com

HandControl IRThe hand control has 6 buttons:UpDownUp (lower speed)Down (lower speed)Base wideningBase narrowingIf the lift has not been used for more than 24 hours, the system must be enabled by pressing any buttonon the control box operation panel before the HandControl IR can be used.A HandControl IR can be used to control several Liko patient lifts (overhead lifts and mobile lifts that are equipped withthe same IR system). If further hand controls are to be used with the lift, IR control must be activated as describedbelow in A.Important! If more than one IR-controlled lift is present in the same room, each lift has to be given a uniquecommunication code in order to avoid maneuvering several lifts with one hand control. A unique communicationcode is created as per operation B.A.A. Enable IR control: Hold the HandControl IR approx.20 cm (8 inch.) from the control box’s IR receiver andpress the hand control’s large Up and Down buttonssimultaneously approx. 2 s. When a signal is emitted, the function is enabled. The lift is now ready to be usedwith the HandControl IR.B.B. Check if the other lifts in the room are affected by yourhand control. If other lifts are affected by your hand control: Use thelarge Up and Down buttons on the operation panel ofthe lift to be used. Press the two buttons simultaneouslyuntil a signal is emitted. The lift now has a uniquecommunication code. Now enable the IR control, see A above.Hand control enabled (green light)- Illuminates when the control box is receiving signals from the hand control.Overload (orange light)Operation PanelThe lift can be operated directly from the operation panel on top of the control box. On the operation panel thereare a number of indicator lights with corresponding symbols; see the description below.Illuminates if the lift’s recommended max. load is exceeded, and the lift stops. The indicator turns offafter 3 s. and the lift operates again. Read more about maximum load on page 12.Service indication (orange light)- IIlluminates when service is needed. Contact the service technician authorized by Liko.ELT, Expected Life Time (red light)- When the light flashes during lifting, the Liko Diagnostic System indicates that the expected life timefor the lift is approaching its end.Contact the service technician authorized by Liko.If the ELT proceeds to shine continuously when lifting, the lift should be taken out of service.Contact the service technician authorized by Liko.Golvo Classic • 7EN140106-0110 w w w . l i k o . com

Charging the Batteries2341Battery CapacityCheck the battery capacity by pressing the i button (1).The following information is available:2 - Green light: More than 50 % of the battery capacity remains.3 - Orange light: 25–50 % of the battery capacity remains.4 - Orange light: 0–25 % of the battery capacity remains. The indication lamps light up for about half a minute; they then go out.The battery capacity is also shown when the lift is in use.To obtain max. service life, it is important to charge the batteries regularly. We recommend charging afteruse of the lift or every night. Maximum charge is obtained after about 5 hours. When the batteries are fullycharged, the charger switches to trickle charging automatically.During charging the lights shine alternatively (orange, orange, green). Completed charging is indicated bya flashing green light. When the operation time is noticeably shortened, the batteries probably need changing.Stop charging and switch batteries.Never charge batteries in a wet area. The lift cannot be charged with the emergency stop engaged.NOTE! If the lift is not to be used for a long period, the battery should be connected to charging.ChargingWith built-in charger:Check that the charger cable is connected to the control box outlet; see p. 6.Connect the charger cable to an electrical outlet (100-240 V AC).Completed charging is indicated by a flashing green light on the battery. If the charger cable is permanently stretched, it should be replaced inorder to minimize the risk of the cable getting stuck and breaking.NOTE! The lift cannot be used when the charger cable is plugged into a wall socket.Old batteries are to be deposited at the nearest recycling station or given to personnel authorizedby Liko.Golvo Classic • 7EN140106-0111 w w w . l i k o . com

Maximum LoadDifferent maximum loads may apply to different products on the assembled lift unit: lift, sling bar, sling and anyother accessories used. For the assembled lift unit, the maximum load is always the lowest maximum load ratingfor any of the components. For example, a Golvo which is approved for 200 kg (440 lbs) can be equipped with anaccessory which is approved for 300 kg (660 lbs). In this case, the maximum load of 200 kg (440 lbs) applies to theassembled lift unit. Take a look at the markings on the lift and lift accessories or contact Liko’s representative if youhave any queries.Recommended Lifting AccessoriesUsing lifting accessories other than those approved can entail a risk.Generally recommended sling bars and accessories for Golvo mobile lifts are described below. When changing a sling bar or other lifting accessories, the highest possible lifting height of the lift is affected. Before changing lifting accessories you should always ensure that the lift, after change, can fulfill the desiredlifting height in order to manage the lifting situations for which the lift is to be used.To select suitable slings and other lifting accessories, refer to the brochures “Golvo” and “Lifting accessories”.For additional guidance in selecting a sling, refer to the instruction guides for the respective sling models. Here, you will also find guidance for combining Liko’s sling bars with Liko’s slings.Contact your Liko representative or visit www.liko.com for advice and information on Liko’s product range.SlingBar Mini 220 Prod.
