Working with selectionsSelecting the parts of images to edit is an important step in your workflow. After youcreate a selection, you can edit it while leaving the rest of the image unchanged. Youcan use tools, such as drawing or painting tools, or apply commands, such as forflipping, copying, or cropping.The border of a selection is identified by a series of black and white dashes, called amarquee.In this section, you’ll learn about• creating selections• hiding and viewing the selection marquee• modifying selections• inverting and clearing selectionsCreating selectionsYou can create a selection when you want to isolate part of an image.
