Tormek AnnouncesT-7 UpgradesThe three most recently addedimprovements to the Tormek T-7directly address concerns expressedby customers. New features improvestone changing, water managementand corrosion protection.“The new EzyLock system forthe grindstone uses a self-tighteningstainless steel knob to secure thegrindstone. No tools are requiredand you don’t need to exert anypressure on the nut to secure thegrindstone” says Tormek CEOHåkan Persson. This constructionalso makes it very easy to changegrindstones, from the standard aluminiumoxide to the new specialtystones (Blackstone Silicon and the4000 Grit Japanese Waterstone).Another improvement to theTormek T-7 is the new AdvancedWater Trough AWT-250. It addressescustomer concerns aboutwater splash while sharpeningcertain tools. The standard lip hasbeen enlarged considerably, and forthose long tools that drip water wellover the edge of the lip (like chef’sknives and planer blades) just addthe water chute, which attaches easilyand directs the water back intothe trough. The new water trough alsohas an incorporated magnet, whichattracts the steel cut from yourtools and keeps your stone cleanerand more free-cutting. For thosedrippy jobs where the water chute isneeded, Tormek has added a pair ofTilt Shoes for the T-7. When put onthe feet of the machine, they put theframe on a slight angle so that thewater that lands on the frame runsback into the water trough. The frame of the T-7 is nowtreated with an Electrodeposition(ED) coating that provides superiorcorrosion protection and forms thefoundation for the tough powdercoat paint finish. This combinationfinish is designed to withstand evenoutdoor environments (but don’ttake your Tormek outside – themotor and electrical system are notweatherproof). For those who already own aTormek T-7 or 2000 the AdvancedWater Trough with tilt shoes and theEzyLock shaft system MSK-250will soon be available as upgradesthat will fit any 250 mm/10” machine. For details of your neareststockist log onto www.affinitytool.com or call 1-866-588-0395.VERMECCHUCK DRIVE DOG• For Vermec, Vicmarc, or small Nova Bonhamchucks• Held by chuck jaws for quick mounting andremoval• Domed surface allows alignment in variouspositions• Pins are Adjustable and Replaceable• Centre Pin is hardened•For Further Information:Web: www.vermec.comEmail: vermec@netspace.net.au39 Dalton Street, Kippa-Ring QLD 4021 AUSTRALIAPh: +61 7 3284 3733 Fax: +61 7 32842733PROUDLY MADE IN AUSTRALIAPage 35 More Woodturning February 2010
