In extreme heat events, roads essential for disaster response couldbuckle.WildfireThe high temperatures that characterize much of the desert landscape <strong>in</strong> thisregion limit the production of fuels that result <strong>in</strong> wildfire. However, shortperiods of high moisture (<strong>in</strong>tense ra<strong>in</strong>fall events) can <strong>in</strong>crease production of f<strong>in</strong>efuels.
