The ecosystem functions of the Delta have been significantly affected andirrevocably changed by introduced, non-native, and invasive species. Introducedspecies now dominate all habitats in the Delta; these species include the aquaticweed Egeria densa, the water hyacinth, the Asian clam and the overbite clam,and the striped bass and largemouth bass, which are predatory and outcompetenative fish species (DWR, 2009, pg.
