Especially for smallergeographies or a more constra<strong>in</strong>ed selection of assets, a knowledgeablecommittee or work<strong>in</strong>g group could collaboratively perform the risk assessmenton flip charts or white boards – especially with the assistance of a seasonedfacilitator. The <strong>in</strong>tegration of these methods, us<strong>in</strong>g GIS for screen<strong>in</strong>g and aworkshop for f<strong>in</strong>al determ<strong>in</strong>ations, for <strong>in</strong>stance, offers the benefits of bothapproaches. The result, as shown <strong>in</strong> Figure 11.2 is a limited pool of highconsequence/high likelihood potential vulnerabilities for more rigorousassessment and <strong>adaptation</strong> decision-mak<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Module 4 (red cell).
