Chapter 15: Controlling Web Site AccessManaging the WebBlocker ServerThe WebBlocker server is installed as a Windows Serviceand can be started or stopped from the Services applicationlocated in the Windows Control Panel Program Group.Installing Multiple WebBlocker ServersYou can install two or more WebBlocker servers in afailover configuration. If the primary WebBlocker serverfails, the Firebox automatically fails over to the first serverin the WebBlocker Servers box, as shown in “ActivatingWebBlocker” on page 256.To add additional WebBlocker servers:1 On the WebBlocker Controls tab in the HTTP Proxydialog box, click Add.2 In the dialog box that appears, type the IP address ofthe server in the Value field. Click OK.You can use the Up and Down buttons to change the positionof the servers in the list.When operating two or more WebBlocker servers in afailover mode, the time between failovers may take up totwo minutes.Automating WebBlocker Database DownloadsThe most effective way to routinely download and updateyour WebBlocker database is to use Windows Task Scheduler.To do this, add a process called WebDBdownload.bat,262 WatchGuard Firebox System
Automating WebBlocker Database Downloadswhich appears in your WatchGuard directory under theWBServer folder:1 Open Control Panel and select Scheduled Tasks. (If itis not listed, see “Installing Scheduled Tasks,” in thefollowing section.)2 Select Add Scheduled Task.3 The Scheduled Tasks wizard launches. Click Next.4 On the next screen, which shows a list of programs toselect from, select Browse.5 Navigate to your WatchGuard directory and then intoWBServer. Select WebDBdownload.bat.6 Specify how often you want to perform this task.WatchGuard suggests you update your database everyday, although you can do it less often if you havebandwidth concerns. Click Next.7 Enter a start time for the process. Because thesedownloads are close to 60 megabytes, choose a timeoutside normal work hours.8 Select the frequency you want for this task.WatchGuard recommends you perform updates onweekdays, because the database is not updated onweekends.9 Select a suitable start date. Click Next.10 Enter the user name and passwords that this processrequires to run. Make sure this user has access to theproper files. Click Next.11 Review your entries. Click Finish.Installing Scheduled TasksIf you are running Windows NT 4.0, you might need tomanually install Scheduled Tasks:1 Open Control Panel and select Add/Remove Programs.2 From the list, select Microsoft Internet Explorer.3 When prompted, select Add a component.User Guide 263
