Chapter 13: Reviewing and Working with Log FilesThe following describes each column and whether thedefault is for the field to appear (Show) or not appear(Hide):NumberThe sequence number in the file. Default = HideDateThe date the record entered the log file. Default =ShowTimeThe time the record entered the log file. Default =ShowThe <strong>Firebox</strong> receives the time from the log host. Ifthe time noted in the log seems later or earlier thanit should be, it is usually because the time zone isnot set properly on either the log host or the<strong>Firebox</strong>. Because some installations contain<strong>Firebox</strong>es in multiple time zones with a single loghost, the <strong>Firebox</strong> uses Greenwich Mean timereceived from the log host by way of the loggingchannel (controld).
