Chapter 12: Setting Up Logging and NotificationViewing the WSEP applicationWhile the <strong>WatchGuard</strong> Security Event Processor isrunning, a <strong>Firebox</strong>-and-traffic icon (shown at left)appears in the Windows Desktop tray. To view theWSEP application, right-click the tray icon and selectWSEP Status/Configuration. The status and configurationinformation appears as shown in the following figure.If the <strong>WatchGuard</strong> Security Event Processor icon is not inthe tray, in <strong>Firebox</strong> <strong>System</strong> Manager, select Tools => Logging=> Event Processor Interface. To start the Event Processorinterface when you log in to the system, add ashortcut to the Startup folder in the Start menu. The Watch-Guard installation program does this automatically if youset up logging.Starting and stopping the WSEPThe WSEP starts automatically when you start the host onwhich it resides. However, it is possible to stop or restartthe WSEP from its interface at any time. Open the Watch-Guard Security Event Processor interface:• To start the WSEP application, select File => StartService.• To stop the WSEP application, select File => StopService.210 <strong>WatchGuard</strong> <strong>Firebox</strong> <strong>System</strong>
