President’s Report I am pleased to announce that at the General Meeting held 14 th March 2012 we as a Club were able to resolve vacancies on the Committee namely VP and editor and as Acting President, I and the Committee would like to thank the following members for putting up their hand. Peter O’Toole was nominated and elected as Vice President and Jay Bowden was nominated and elected as Editor. Their photos and contact details have been added to the Committee page in this magazine. Anzac Day 2012 is rapidly approaching and as previously advised we have once again been asked by the RSL Tewantin-Noosa Sub Branch to provide our assistance in transporting invalid RSL veterans so that they may be allowed to participate in their parade. Anyone who can assist with this please review the flier in the magazine and contact Max Parnell. Following on from last month, we have confirmed with the International Rally of Queensland that this years’ stopover is in Pomona on Saturday and not Cooroy as previous. We are endeavouring to obtain more info as to our possible involvement in supporting the local community of Pomona during the stopover in late May and whether something along the lines of Cooroy is acceptable. Members who have recently visited the NBCCC Website would have noticed subtle changes to Menu button selections and page presentations. The aim is to make the site more user friendly and present our Club information in a clearer manner. By the way if you are not aware, the Classic Lines magazine is displayed on the website as is past issues. Currently we have little or no Club Merchandise particularly in the clothing category and this is currently being investigated. Some samples were shown at the last Meeting and if any member, particularly the Ladies, have any suggestions in this regard please contact myself or Peter O’Toole. Have a look at the upcoming Social Event fliers as there is some enjoyable and interesting outings organised. Bruce Chamberlain Acting President

Vale REID DOCHERTY (Member No.187) It is with sadness that I report the passing of Reid after a hard fought bout with lung cancer. Reid was passionate about Italian cars and had purchased an Alfa Romeo Giulieta Cloverleaf which had only just been delivered, unfortunately he never got to try out it’s 230 hp ! He and his wife Colleen who died some 12 months ago , also from cancer, had an unusual Fiat Coupe that they enjoyed and used at many of our Club functions . Reid and Colleen had no children but maintained that their family was the children that they had watched over as headmaster / headmistress during their long NSW education department careers. Reid will be missed by the many friends he has accumulated since locating to Noosa on retirement . His funeral will be held on Friday 23 rd at Drysdale Funerals . Ross Carey Anzac Day Wednesday 25 th April Max Parnell has agreed to co-ordinate our yearly Classic Car assistance for our Returned Soldiers March. If you would like to assist with the provision of a car please contact Max on maxparnell1@gmail.com
