Participants who are chosen for the Sac Dene canoetrip will come to camp from July 7 to August 30. During their time at camp and in canoes, theseLIT campers will learn to work as a team and develop personal strengths and new abilities in aremote setting. Their two-month long camp experience will include driving to and flying fromthe river, many days of paddling and stops along the Mackenzie river in small communities, andbecoming a co-counsellor for their last week at camp. Their focus at camp will be on learningand developing peer and group leadership abilities. Participants will have the opportunity to canoe or swim in the lake, sing songs atcampfires, shoot arrows, make crafts and explore our hiking trails. Older kids and adults mayhave the chance to go horseback riding and try our high ropes course. Please see our campdescription on the website or call our office for age limitations for these activities. *Familycamp participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from camp. Indicateyour preference for accommodations - room assignments will confirmed by our office. Clusterrooms sleep 14 in bunk beds, tipis sleep 10 in bunks beds, the yurt sleeps 10 on cots, Longhouserooms sleep 4 in bunk beds. Accommodation requests will be honoured in the order in which theregistrations are received. On-line registration is not available for Family Camp due to bookingaccommodations. These Koska campers will learn to work as a team and experience new activities andchallenges with the guidance of their counsellor. Please note: Camping overnights are offeredwith residential camp options only. Bussing is available from Canmore and Exshaw at anadditional cost.
