A lifelong resident of South Sioux City, Hedquistreturned to his hometown after graduating from <strong>Wayne</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>College</strong> witha bachelor of science degree in 1972.At its July 11, 2005 meeting, the city council of South Sioux Cityvoted to give special recognition to Hedquist for his 25 years of dedicatedservice to the City of South Sioux City by naming the Technology Speculativebuilding, located at 3309 & 3311 Daniels Lane, the "Lance HedquistTechnology Building."Hedquist has been recognized as a leader and innovator in the tri-state area and across Nebraska for his foresight in leadingone of the most progressive cities in the state.
