After graduation from West I went on to college
at MSU, graduating in 1985 with a degree
in Elementary Education. I worked at the
KMart store in Mankato for 15 years, the last
five years as Customer Service Assistant Manager.
I left KMart in 1995 to pursue my dream
of working with children. For the last 10 years
I have been working at Golden Heart Childcare
Center. I work with preschool children. I
work with 4-5 year old children, preparing
them for kindergarten. It is a challenging but
fun vocation.
There is no money in early education,
so most people stick with it for the other
rewards! Besides working at Golden Heart I
own my own business. I am a homestyle specialist
with a great homeshow company called
AtHome America. We offer great homewares
to decorate your home, and/or office. It’s a

My husband Lon and I have been married for
18 years. We are the parents of Sam, 13. He is
an eighth grader at Dakota Meadows Middle
School. He is active in Boy Scouts, working
toward his Star rank currently, looking to be
an Eagle Scout. He is an OA member-scouting
honor society (peer elected). He also is active
in church choir, bell choir and is taking trumpet
and guitar lessons. Yes, we are very proud
of him. Our other members of the family
include our dog Daisy-a five year old 3.6 pound
Yorkie and a 3-year-old calico cat-Mittens.
We still live in our little starter home in Skyline,
not far from my parents. My husband is
in love with the city of Las Vegas (weird for a
tax accountant) and plans to move there when

Sam graduates. Hope he sends money back
home to Skyline!! I may move with him—as
long as we can still come back to the beautiful
winters here in Minnesota! OK, I’m kidding
about the winters part—I hate the cold! I’m
just not so sure I can move that far from my
family. My younger brother and wife live next
door to me (although we go days without seeing
each other—only a wave as we drive by.)
My parents live in the same neighborhood as
well, and my older brother and family live in
Eagan. We usually plan two trips there (Vegas)
annually. Once in December with Sam and
once in May without Sam.
