<strong>St</strong>.<strong>John</strong><strong>Brebeuf</strong> Secondary Semester (I) 2012 S.DuffyAcademic Expectation:-In order for every student to achieve their full academic potential in this course they willbe expected to adhere to the following criteria:Homework is due at the beginning of class on the due date.If you are away the day an assignment is due, you are expected to hand it inthe first day you return.Homework not completed by the due date will be logged as an incompleteassignment.Anyone with missing or incomplete assignments will be enrolled in thelunchtime homework club until all assignments are up to date.In preparation for quizzes and unit tests a lunchtime tutorial class will runon Tuesdays – Friday and after school Monday – ThursdayAll course content will be assessed through quizzes, tests and projects. Anystudent who fails a unit assessment will have the opportunity to sit oneretest and will be expected to attend lunchtime tutorials for furtherconsolidation.Any student who misses a test due to absence will be expected to write thetest the first day back unless other arrangements have been made.Any student who misses notes due to absence must get a copy of all notesfrom Mrs. Duffy immediately on their return and catch up on all notebookassignments.Classroom Expectations:-Participation in this course is absolutely vital. Combine this with an enthusiastic positiveattitude and students will achieve success by adhering to the following criteria:Tardiness is unacceptable do NOT be late for class.Cell phones and I pods must NOT be brought to class.(Keep them in your locker)At the beginning of each class there will be a starter on the board. Everystudent will be expected to settle quickly to work. (NO EXCEPTIONS!!!)<strong>St</strong>udent binders must be organized, neat and up to date.3
