Keeping a partially disabled employee in the work place tends to speed his or herrecovery, which benefits the employee and reduces agency costs. If the employee istotally disabled, or if you are unable to accommodate the restrictions, maintain contactwith the employee during his or her absence from work. You should advise your local ICPA promptly of any injuries occurring in your section. You should also refer the injured employee to the ICPA for further assistance aftertaking the steps described above. The ICPA will provide specific information throughoutthe course of the injury compensation claim, to both you and the injured employee. TheICPA is also available to provide basic training which can help you become morefamiliar with what to do when one of your employees is injured at work.

Most homes have some Unilever Bestfoodsproducts, although the company is probably best knownunder its famous brand names.Unilever is a giant internationalconglomerate with two parentcompanies - Unilever NV with itsHead Office in Rotterdam, theNetherlands, and Unilever PLC withits Head Office in London. Unileveris organized into two global businessareas - the Foods Business Area andthe Home and Personal Care BusinessArea. The Group has operationsin more than 80 countries through 300subsidiaries, and has a total of 265000 employees (in 2001).In Sweden, the Foods BusinessArea is represented by UnileverBestfoods and GB Glace. UnileverBestfoods has its Head Office in Helsingborgand production plants inHelsingborg and Uppsala.Close to the PortMargarinbolaget (Margarine Company)moved its operations to Helsingborgin 1968. The old Zenitfactory in Malmö and the Pellerinfactory in Gothenburg were shutdown, and an entirely new factoryknown as Pellerin/Zenit was built onthe coast in the south of Helsingborgcity.“The reason for siting the factory justthere was that it would be close to thePort. Transport by sea is preferable notonly from the logistics aspect. It is alsoan economically and environmentallybetter alternative,” says Christer Nilsson,Production Manager at the UnileverBestfoods refinery. Transport ofthe oil raw material by sea has alwaysbeen important, but the proportion ofall raw materials now arriving by seahas risen to about 93 percent. Theships are specially adapted for carryingfoods, and two shipping lines are retainedfor the transport work. Betweenone and three ships with raw oil arrivein Helsingborg every week, all the yearround.Large volumesUnilever has two berthing areas ofits own in the Port. Pipelines areprovided for pumping the oil directlyfrom the ships to the raw material tanksat the factory. The tankers carrybetween 620 and 2000 tonnes of oil,Parts of Unilevers assortmentand Unilever Bestfoods has storagecapacity for 6200 tonnes. When thefactory was built, the pipes were run ontimber supports above ground level, andran across the shore up to the factory.Today, the two pipes are buried wellbelow ground level. One of the pipes isused for cold-flowing oil, while the otheris used for oil that needs preheating.Nordic productionThe Helsingborg factory is inproduction five days a week, and its outputis intended not only for the Swedishmarket, but also for the other Nordiccountries.Unilever cistern in the Scania Terminal8
