World globe.Review: Fairy tales are folk tales with magic in them. Folk tales are stories thatwere told long ago before people wrote things down.Introduction: Some people were afraid that these old stories would be forgotten<strong>and</strong> lost if they were not written down. Two German brothers, Jacob <strong>and</strong> WilhelmGrimm, one a teacher <strong>and</strong> the other a librarian, wanted to save their country’soldest stories. (Show where Germany is located on a globe.) The Grimm brotherswent around the countryside listening to the stories that the people loved to tell.These they wrote down <strong>and</strong> collected in a book. It is the oldest book of fairy tales.Later, people in other countries did the same thing. We are so glad that thesestories didn’t get lost because they are so much fun to listen to.Story: Elves <strong>and</strong> the Shoemaker (398.2 Gal).
