<strong>Harvest</strong> <strong>Permits</strong>1. <strong>Harvest</strong> <strong>Permits</strong> may be issued to owners/operators <strong>of</strong> vehicles used for haulingspecific materialsa. Sandb. Gravelc. Fill dirtd. Agricultural productsi. Products produced on the farmii. Farm products being transported from the farm to market orprocessing pointsiii. Cotton seed regardless <strong>of</strong> origin is considered an agriculturalproducte. Unprocessed forestry productsi. Forestry products being hauled directly from the forestii. Products being hauled from a “holding yard” will be treated asdirectly from the forest2. Loads authorized for <strong>Harvest</strong> <strong>Permits</strong> must NOT exceed 84,000 pounds3. <strong>Harvest</strong> <strong>Permits</strong> are not valid on Interstate Highwaysa. Vehicles in excess <strong>of</strong> 80,000 pounds will be penalizedi. $0.05 per pound for every pound over 80,000ii. $0.15 per pound for every pound over 100,000b. <strong>Harvest</strong> <strong>Permits</strong> are not valid on low-weight roadsc. <strong>Harvest</strong> <strong>Permits</strong> may be used for vehicles restricted from haulingmaximum loads due to axle number or spacingd. <strong>Harvest</strong> <strong>Permits</strong> apply to covered products at 4,000 above the authorizedgross weight limiti. Loads in excess <strong>of</strong> 4,000 pounds will be penalized1. $0.05 per pound for every pound over 4,0002. $0.15 for every pound over 16,0004. Check made out to <strong>Mississippi</strong> <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Transportation</strong>b. Money Order made payable to the <strong>Mississippi</strong> <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Transportation</strong>6. 7. Approval <strong>of</strong> all applications will be determined by MDOT8. Applications not approved will be returned to applicant for correction and resubmission9. <strong>Harvest</strong> <strong>Permits</strong> will NOT be issued to owners under the following conditionsa. Owners with outstanding vehicle fees or penaltiesb. Owners with fees or penalties under appealc. Owners with penalties or fees on a payment plan10. After MDOT approves application, the <strong>Harvest</strong> Permit is valid as <strong>of</strong> issue datefound on letter <strong>of</strong> authorizationa. Applicant will receive a <strong>Harvest</strong> Permit Authorization letteri. Authorization Letter must be kept in vehicle at all timesii. Authorization Letter is non transferableiii. Authorization Letter is valid for one year from issue date.
