In recent years a large number of certifying bodies from outside Nepal have been active in issuingmanagement system certificates to various enterprises in Nepal. There is a need for developinginternationally recognized national certification bodies at government or private sector level, as wellas a need for an agency to register and monitor certification bodies;13. The Nepalese government has found it difficult to retain staff in the past, especially those that arerecipients of in-service capacity-building training programmes.
