the INESCAPABLE FACT
FACT (FUNCTIONAL ADVANCED CARBON TECHNOLOGY) ALLOWS US
TO MAKE HIGH-PERFORMANCE BIKES THAT ARE TAILOR-MADE FOR
THE WHERE AND WHY OF YOUR NEXT RIDE.
It doesn't matter how or where you want to ride, our goal is to make sure
that you enjoy your time on a bike more. That's where our proprietary
FACT technology comes in. More than just a range of composite materials,
FACT allows us to make every rider's time on a bike better because it
allow us to utilize an integrated approach to design, material choice,
fabrication and testing.
FACT is a proprietary term that distinguishes our advanced development
and fabrication process for composites, one that always starts with the
specific demands of the experience that a bike or piece of equipment is
being designed for and ends with a range of proven performance benefits
including increased efficiency, flawless handling, unsurpassed fatigue
reduction and incredibly low weight.
Most critically, FACT enables us to consider the performance of a bike as a
whole. With FACT, we never focus on a single attribute like weight or stiffness
without considering the effect on the overall package. By considering
all the attributes of a bike and how they interact, we're able to fine-tune
our FACT composites for any experience that you're looking to have. And
because our entire company is filled with demanding cyclists, creating
bikes and equipment that outperform everything else on the road or trail
isn't just a job, it's our passion.

flying
COLORS
WHETHER UNDER THE WORLD’S BEST ATHLETES OR IN OUR OWN
CUTTING-EDGE LAB, WE TEST THE THINGS WE MAKE EVERY SINGLE
DAY. WHEN WE PASS, THE RESULT IS FLYING COLORS.
As lofty as it sounds, our vision is to be the best cycling brand in the
world. So we dream, design and build all kinds of things that help you
enjoy your time on a bike more. Because most of the people who work
here are passionate cyclists in their own right—including our entire
engineering team—making all kinds of bikes and equipment that add
a little something extra to our daily rides is way more than just a job.
Starting back in the 1970’s our relationship with top professional cyclists—
including road and off-road world champions, Tour de France stage
winners and Olympic medalists—has helped us make all of the things we
make way better. All of the feedback they provide not only helps them
win races, it helps us improve the performance of every bike or piece of
equipment we make.
To compliment the input that all kinds of riders give us, we’ve developed
one of the world's foremost testing facilities in our Morgan Hill, California
headquarters, and our staff of engineers and technicians monitor countless
hours of bending, breaking and smashing to ensure that every frame,
component and piece of equipment we make delivers world class
performance and top-level safety.
The next time you're out on a bike, you don't have to think about
what could make that ride better because we are.
BOONEN ASKED US TO BUILD HIM THE MOST
EFFICIENT, BEST HANDLING ROAD BIKE IN THE
WORLD. WE DELIVERED WITH THE SL2.
Because it had to meet the demands of fast finishing riders
like Tour de France Green Jersey winner Tom Boonen, we
couldn't afford to make the SL2 just another featherweight
frame. So we delivered the Tarmac SL2, a frame that weighs
over 100-grams less than our Tarmac SL, yet boasts the best
lateral and torsional stiffness of any bike we've ever made
and vertical compliance that is only second to our revolutionary
S-Works Roubaix SL. We build the SL2 using an
entirely new manufacturing process-FACT IS.
efficiency and performance. Total integration of the frame and crank allows us to
create an oversized bottom bracket shell and house a pair of large diameter bearings
DESIGNED FOR SPEED AND EFFICIENCY, YET STILL
LIGHT, SHARP-HANDLING AND SMOOTH-RIDING, THE
TARMAC SL IS BALANCED FOR TOP PERFORMANCE
IN ANY SITUATION.
To endow the Tour de France stage winning Tarmac SL
with the grace of a ballerina and the brawn of a boxer,
we created a specific manufacturing process—FACT Az1.
When building a Tarmac SL with Az1, we seamlessly join
discrete carbon monocoque sections into a single chassis,
creating a frame that has amazing rigidity and efficiency,
yet retains enough vertical compliance to make the last
mile of an all-day ride feel as good as the first.
OUR PROPRIETARY FACT TECHNOLOGY ALLOWS US TO CREATE BIKES
THAT ARE INCREDIBLY LIGHT, BUT ALSO GREAT HANDLING, AMAZ-
INGLY EFFICIENT AND ALL-DAY COMFORTABLE. NO OTHER BIKE IN
THE WORLD MATCHES THE BALANCE OF WEIGHT, STIFFNESS AND
VERTICAL COMPLIANCE THAT OUR PROPRIETARY FACT TECHNOLOGY
ALLOWS US TO CREATE.
(1) Vertical compliance directly correlates to how supple a bike rides.
In fact, the S-Works Roubaix SL offers such superior vertical compliance
that even with 30 psi more in the tires it's still smoother riding than
the next closest competitor.
(2) Torsional Frame Stiffness translates directly to sprinting acceleration
and sharp handling. On these two counts the Tarmac SL2 is unbeatable.
(3) Greater bottom bracket Frame Stiffness equals greater efficiency and
sprinting acceleration. Boonen wanted both. We obliged.
(4) When it comes to weight, less is definitely more. And no frame that
we've ever made offers you more (that is, less) than the Tarmac SL2.
THE FACTS ON THE ANATOMY OF THIS KILLER
Ultra Aerodynamic Frame
Extremely narrow FACT carbon tubes minimize drag through the use of
an airfoil shape (the tallest allowed by the UCI), a small diameter 1-inch
steerer reduces frontal area, a forward arcing seat tube creates an aerodynamic
shelter for the rear wheel and the FACT carbon seat stays have
been designed to tuck behind the seat tube.
Integrated Fact Fork
Designed for minimal drag and dependable handling, the Transition's
FACT carbon fork minimizes turbulance thanks to the aero profile of the
fork blades, unique crown shape, small diameter steerer tube and truly
integrated frame-and-fork interface.
Integrated Braking System
To ensure maximum aerodynamics, performance and control we've
designed and engineered a completely integrated braking system just
for the Transition. You won't find it on any other bike.
Slippery Seat Stays
For maximum aerodynamics, the Transition's seat stays have been
designed to stay tucked behind the seat tube until they need to flare
