Lochte, Torres, Soni and Hansen Headline the <strong>2011</strong> AT&T <strong>Winter</strong> <strong>National</strong><br />

<strong>Championships</strong><br />

Sixty-four <strong>National</strong> Team members are scheduled to swim in Atlanta, Ga.<br />

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Olympic gold medalists Ryan Lochte (Daytona Beach, Fla.), Dara Torres (Parkland, Fla.),<br />

Rebecca Soni (Plainsboro, N.J.) and Brendan Hansen (Havertown, Pa.) will compete at the <strong>2011</strong> AT&T <strong>Winter</strong> <strong>National</strong><br />

<strong>Championships</strong>, December 1-3. The event which will take place at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Ga., will<br />

consist of the top American swimmers including 34 members of the <strong>2011</strong> FINA World <strong>Championships</strong> U.S. Team.<br />

Other top swimmers scheduled to compete include four-time Olympian Amanda Beard (Irvine, Calif.), Olympic gold medalists<br />

Ed Moses (Loma Linda, Calif.) and Peter Vanderkaay (Rochester, Mich.) as well as <strong>2011</strong> World Champion Missy Franklin<br />

(Centennial, Colo.). A total of 64 out of 108 U.S. <strong>National</strong> Team members will be in Atlanta, Ga. for the three-day meet.<br />

A strong fi eld of international competitors will also be in Atlanta, including Japanese Olympic gold medalist Kosuke Kitajima,<br />

France’s Fred Bousquet and Laure Manaudou, Great Britain’s Gemma Spofforth and South Africa’s Darian Townsend<br />

among others.<br />

Atlanta-area swimmers to compete in the meet include Olympic medalists Eric Shanteau (Lilburn, Ga.), Amanda Weir<br />

(Lawrenceville, Ga.) and Kara Lynn Joyce (Athens, Ga.) along with 2008 Olympian Kathleen Hersey (Atlanta, Ga.) and<br />

<strong>National</strong> Team member Jack Brown (Atlanta, Ga.).<br />

Preliminaries will start at 9 a.m. ET Thursday through Saturday, with fi nals beginning at 6 p.m. ET. Tickets may be purchased<br />

at the door or online. Footage from the meet will air nationally on NBC on Sunday, December 4 from 2-3 p.m. ET. <strong>USA</strong><br />

<strong>Swimming</strong> will also have a live webcast available of prelims and fi nals for all three days.<br />
