Historical SocietyAs always, the <strong>Warner</strong> Historical Society had a very busy year and thishigh-energy approach promises to continue through 2012. The Societycontinued its dedication to collecting, documenting, and researchinganything and everything connected to our history.<strong>2011</strong> Highlights• Published our 2nd annual calendar, Farms and Agricultural History<strong>of</strong> <strong>Warner</strong>, N.H.• Co-published, with the Pillsbury Free Library, a book researched& written by Larry Sullivan, Nineteenth Century Libraries <strong>of</strong><strong>Warner</strong>, New Hampshire from the Early Social Libraries to theChildren’s Branch <strong>of</strong> the Pillsbury Free Library, 1796-1900.• Our summer exhibit, Along the Basket Trail, was produced inconjunction with the Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum, theHopkinton Historical Society, and Wijokadoak. Together withour co-sponsors, we received an award from the Association <strong>of</strong>Historical Societies <strong>of</strong> NH.• We also featured the exhibit <strong>Warner</strong> Made, products, items, andarts, both from the past and present.• <strong>2011</strong> featured the second annual Tory Hill Readers Series. Thisamazing series again featured world-class writers and poets.Writers Christina Shea, Brian Bouldrey, M. T. Anderson, N.H.poet laureate - Patricia Fargnoli, Yankee Magazine editor - EdieClark, N.H. humorist - Rebecca Rule, and ecologistextraordinaire - Tom Wessels, were featured in another highlysuccessful season.• The Society was very busy providing bake sales at elections,selling tickets to its highly successful July 4 th Raffle; sellingfruit with its first ever Citrus Sale; participation in the 5 th AnnualHoliday Shopping Tour, participation in the Festival <strong>of</strong> Treeswith a “Snow Train Era” tree, and most importantly, the Societyhad its most successful season ever with its Barn Sale. Ahuge thank you goes out to all the donors, sponsors, volunteers,and patrons who made all <strong>of</strong> this possible!A Look Into 2012• Tory Hill Readers Series will have its name changed to Tory HillAuthors Series. Going into its third season, it still promises tobe one <strong>of</strong> the summer’s hallmark events.• Executive director, Rebecca Courser, and Laurie Buchar <strong>of</strong> theBradford Historical Society, are compiling and authoring anImages <strong>of</strong> America Series book entitled, Bradford and <strong>Warner</strong>,New Hampshire. It will contain 240 historical images from the97
