Health OfficerWell, another year in the book. <strong>2011</strong> was a slow year for the HealthOfficer which is good for the people <strong>of</strong> <strong>Warner</strong>. There were a few failedseptic systems and I did one inspection.As I continue to be the Health Officer I am surprised to find that townresidents are unaware that the <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Warner</strong> has a Health Officerand that they are unaware <strong>of</strong> what I do. As a Health Officer I am appointedby the Board <strong>of</strong> Selectmen for a three year term. The scope <strong>of</strong>work is to enforce New Hampshire Public Health rules and laws, aswell as local ordinances, as well as serve as a liaison between state<strong>of</strong>ficials and the local community on issues concerning local publichealth. Examples <strong>of</strong> some <strong>of</strong> these are: inspections <strong>of</strong> day care andfoster homes, evaluation <strong>of</strong> septic system failures, and investigation <strong>of</strong><strong>of</strong>fensive odors.The best way to reach me is to contact Mary Whalen at the Selectman’s<strong>of</strong>fice at 456-2298 ext. 2.Respectfully submitted,Paul DiGeronimo - Health Officer80
