Post Office rulings require us to keep our subscriptionlists very clean. When subscriptions expire, but a shorttime can be left for renewals. This insures that our listis quite a live one. For several years we have been urgingthe friends that, instead of lending their papers tointerested friends, they encourage them to become subscribersto THE WATCH TOWER and to the papers publishingthe sermons. Friends of the Cause have provided aspecial Fund out of which any such subscriptions can bepaid, so that poverty need not be a hindrance to the receivingof a regular supply of spiritual food.In various ways we know that our list still representsonly the smaller portion of those really interested in theHarvest Message. The list, however, is gradually growing.Many of you will be glad to know that we are nowpublishing thirty-five thousand or more copies at everyissue. We wish we dared hope for an increase of fifteenthousand or more during the coming year. The matter isin your hands. If you are receiving a blessing throughthese channels, and if you desire to extend the blessingsto others, be sure you properly advise them.THE PILGRIM SERVICEThe Lord continues His blessing with the Pilgrimservice. It is not the Society's desire to supply regularpreaching for the Classes or in any manner to relievethem of the responsibility for their own spiritual upbuilding.The frequent supply of Pilgrims, therefore, is confinedto large cities, where a more public witness than thelocal Class is able to provide seems necessary. Even then,we encourage the Classes to continue their regular studies,just as though the Pilgrims did not come so frequently.Pilgrim visits are intended to serve a double purpose:First, to assist in giving from time to time public witnessesfor the Truth--but preferably only one or two public discoursesat each visit; second, the coming of a Pilgrimaffords excellent opportunity for refreshing and strengtheningthe Household of Faith. They may be called uponto help unravel knotty questions which may arise, althoughthere will generally be found in every Class somefamiliar enough with the STUDIES IN THE SCRIPTURES togive a Scriptural answer to nearly every importantquestion.Many Classes of Bible Students have written us thatby vote they have chosen the Editor of this journal astheir Pastor (under-shepherd or bishop). We suggest tosuch that the Pilgrim brethren be considered in a generalway our assistants, and that they be received accordingly.This does not mean that the lessons they give, the spiritualfood which they present, should be received carelessly,or without proper mastication.Rather, the Lord would have all of His dear sheepuse their consecrated minds in rightly dividing the Wordof Truth, giving special heed to the suggestions and expositions
