on arrangements concluded that it would be best to transferthe majority of the meetings to Washington Cityproper. Accordingly, on Monday morning the WashingtonAcademy of Music, a fine auditorium with a seatingcapacity of about 2,500 persons, was secured, and at 9o'clock on Tuesday morning the same was packed to itslimit, with about 300 on the platform. This necessitatedthe securing of another auditorium for overflow services,which were arranged for in the beautiful new MasonicTemple, seating about 1,400 people. Besides these twoplaces the G.A.R. Hall was engaged for Book Stall, ColporteurDepartment, Post Office, Information Bureau anda general meeting place for those who desired to makeappointments with one another.We believe we can see the overruling hand of Providencein having these various auditoriums, as they servedto bring before the attention of the public the actual sizeof the gathering of Bible Students. It was a surpriseto many of the Washington residents to know that therewere so many people so interested in Bible study as notto give their time to sight-seeing or other attractions ofthat beautiful city, but on the contrary would pour intoeach of the auditoriums at each session, morning, afternoonand evening, notwithstanding the heated weather.Besides the regular features, as designated on the program,a reception was held in the G.A.R. Hall on Mondayevening, attended by six hundred. Another reception,in the nature of a special discourse by Brother Russell,was held on Tuesday evening in the Academy of Music,which was crowded to its capacity. On Wednesday nighta most inspiring prayer meeting, attended by fully 2,500persons, was conducted at the Academy of Music. Thetestimonies all evidenced remarkable growth in grace andin knowledge of the Lord and a desire to "praise Him forHis goodness and wonderful works to the children ofmen."--Psa. 1078.Another feature not on the regular program was the"Christian Workers' Service" on Thursday afternoon at theGlen Echo auditorium, over one thousand being present.The discourse by Brother Russell on the subject of Baptismon Friday morning was listened to with quiet interest,and at its conclusion 167 adults indicated their desireto symbolize their baptism into the Body of Christ bywater immersion. After directing a few personal wordsand extending the right-hand of fellowship to each of thecandidates, they were conducted to the bathing pool at thefoot of the imposing Washington Monument, where theceremony was performed with befitting dignity andsolemnity.In the evening Brother Russell addressed a splendidassembly of Pilgrims, elders and deacons at the Academyof Music, and all seemed greatly rejoiced, comforted andencouraged by the remarks, which were based upon thetext, "Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all theflock, over the which the Holy Spirit hath made you overseers,to feed the Church of God, which He hath purchased
