The elders of theToronto Class, all the Pilgrim brethren present, andBrother Russell, enjoyed the blessed privilege of a personalhand-shake with each and all in attendance. Thesinging of appropriate farewell hymns and the breakingof bread made the scene most impressive, never to bef<strong>org</strong>otten.Although not on the program, on Sunday morning alarge number of the friends gathered again at HorticulturalHall for a praise and testimony service and anaddress by one of the Canadian brethren, followed by aBerean lesson. In the afternoon the public of Torontowere addressed by Brother Russell in the Royal AlexandraTheatre on the subject, "Beyond the Grave." Themeeting was well advertised, and although this is a largeauditorium, and the day was extremely warm, the placewas crowded to its capacity and, according to variousestimates, five hundred to one thousand were turned awayfrom the doors unable to gain admittance. The witnessto the Truth, God's character and plan thus given, wetrust, may serve to awaken the interest of some whoheard for the first time. Closest attention was givenand at the conclusion many were the warm greetings andexpressions of joy, hope and pleasure respecting the "goodtidings of great joy which shall be unto all people."AT WASHINGTON CITYWhile the concluding sessions were being held atToronto, Ontario, Bible Students from thirty-six differentStates were entering the Capitol City of the United Statesby the gateway of its magnificent Union Station, previouslymentioned in the columns of this journal on accountof the appropriate inscriptions of Biblical texts soprecious to the hearts of our readers, to be found abovethe archway entrances, viz., "Thou hast put all thingsunder His feet"; "The Truth shall make you free"; "Thedesert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose," etc.Via special trains, special cars, electric lines and automobilesthe friends continued to pour in until by Saturdayevening, the day before the Convention opened, thecity was fairly filled with Bible Students, who were assignedto over six hundred different homes, private boardinghouses and hotels. This distribution of the visitingStudents, we believe, afforded an excellent opportunityfor witnessing to the Truth before many families andpersons who might not otherwise have been reached. Sofar as we have heard all were quite comfortably located.The opening day's sessions were all held in the Auditoriumat the Glen Echo Chautauqua Grounds, and inspite of the extreme heat the place was filled to overflowing.Observing the extraordinary numbers inattendance, which more than taxed the capacity of GlenEcho Park and the electric car facilities, the committee
