Jews was as a nation and not as individuals. The wholenation was involved in the contract made at Sinai. Consequently,in order to meet all the requirements of thepeople as a whole, the One who would redeem Israelfrom the baneful effects of the Law Covenant must sufferthe extreme penalty imposed by that Covenant. Thereforeto redeem Israel from that condemnation our Lordhad to be crucified. As for the remainder of mankind, they suffer fromthe sentence of death that came upon Adam, but no particularform of death was implied. The Jews alone neededthis particular form of death for their release. The wholenation was under this Law Covenant because the contractwas made with them as a nation and through onemediator, Moses. Our Lord will redeem the whole nationfrom their failure to keep that Law, from the condemnationof that Law, by instituting the New Covenant, bytaking over into the New Covenant all those who wereunder the old Law Covenant. That New Covenant will go into operation in due time.Christ has already redeemed the Jews and all mankind inthe sense that He has laid down the Ransom price; butHe has not yet redeemed them in the sense of recoveringthem nor even in the sense of applying that price. Atthe end of this Age He will apply the price for Israeland the world; and then the New Covenant arrangementswill go into effect for the blessing of all who come underits regulations.----------R5050 : page 197BEYOND THE VEILThese stammering lips, that nowSo vainly strive to speak Thy praise--Beyond the veilShall make the heaven of heavens resoundThrough endless days. These yearning eyes, that strainTo catch by faith a glimpse of Thee--Beyond the veilShall see Thee as Thou art through allEternity. These trembling hands, these feet,That seek to serve so earnestly--Beyond the veilShall for Thy Kingdom's glorious workEmpowered be.And this poor, throbbing heart,That cannot now unfold its love--Beyond the veil
