It was with this in viewthat the Association privately authorized Pastor Russell,its President, to spend as much as seven thousand dollarsin publishing the Gospel of the Kingdom in Oriental lands,provided in his judgment and in the judgment of theCommittee there were saintly hearts and minds in thoselands likely to appreciate the message and to be ripenedthereby for the heavenly "garner."The Committee did not find the time at their disposalsufficient to permit them to visit Burmah, Africa and Australasia.It recommends that another Committee be appointedfor that work, and that it have due considerationat the next General Convention of the I.B.S.A. ThisConvention is announced to be held at Pertle Springs,Chautauqua grounds near Warrensburg, Mo., June, 1-8,<strong>1912</strong>.The gentlemen who have served on this Committee areall earnest Bible Students. Their zeal in the matter ofthis investigation may be judged from the fact that theynot only paid their own expenses, but additionally defrayedPastor Russell's and all secretarial expenses. Thesegentlemen have long been deeply interested in the propagationof the Gospel, both at home and abroad. Fromthe first we thought the Committee a remarkably fair one,and we believe the Report fully justifies that opinion.While it tells some plain truths, and lays bare some importantfacts, it is in no sense harsh or unkind, but on thecontrary, sympathetic.So interesting is the Committee's Report and so instructivethat we have practically devoted one entire numberof THE WATCH TOWER to its presentation. We trustour readers will understand and appreciate our endeavors.We are printing a very large edition of this number, believingthat it will be of interest to many outside ourpresent list of subscribers. All such are cordially invitedto become subscribers, and to join with us in the study ofour Heavenly Father's Word in its own light--withoutthe "spectacles" of any denominational creed.
