Possible entries are:0 = “Multiple” or1 = “Single”.8.18.6 Field 18.006: Sample donor in<strong>for</strong>mation / SDIThis field is mandatory. It indicates if the DNA in<strong>for</strong>mation is from the subjectdescribed in Record Type-2 or if it is from another person, which is being sent toassist in establishing or verifying the identity of the subject of the transaction.Note that multiple Type-18 records may be included in a single transaction; onlyone record may have a value of 0 <strong>for</strong> the first in<strong>for</strong>mation item.• The allowed numeric values <strong>for</strong> the first mandatory in<strong>for</strong>mation item DNAsample donor / DSD are:0 = Subject of the transaction1 = Claimed, purported or validated relative2 = Unknown source• The second in<strong>for</strong>mation item is the gender ID / GID. This is an optional singlecharacter identifier of "M" or "F" or "U". "U" indicates unknown. GID may beset based on self-assignment by the specimen donor. The GID may not match theresults from the Amelogenin or <strong>for</strong> other valid cases.• The third in<strong>for</strong>mation item, date of last contact / DLC is an optional date field.See Section 7.7.2.3 <strong>for</strong> the <strong>for</strong>mat. For example, in a missing persons case, it isthe date that the person was last seen.• The fourth in<strong>for</strong>mation item, date of birth / DOB, is an optional date field.Section 7.7.2.3 <strong>for</strong> the <strong>for</strong>mat.• The fifth in<strong>for</strong>mation item is the ethnic group / EGP. It is an optional string of50 Unicode characters used to describe the ethnic group to which the subjectbelongs.• The sixth in<strong>for</strong>mation item is optional and indicates if dental records are available<strong>for</strong> the subject (dental records available / DRA). This in<strong>for</strong>mation item shall beentered only if DSD=0. Allowed numeric values are:0 = No1 = Yes2 = Unknown372
