For cases involving the transmission of dental and oral data about anindividual <strong>for</strong> potential law en<strong>for</strong>cement purposes, the most current data on thatindividual should be supplied in a Type-12 record (and images, if available in aType-10 and/ or Type-22 record – as appropriate).It is important to emphasize that lack of specification of a condition in the data<strong>for</strong> this record does NOT mean that a condition is NOT present, but simply thatthe sender did not convey the in<strong>for</strong>mation.The familial data set in<strong>for</strong>mation is handled in a Type-2 record, according to thespecifications of the Application Profile, such as the FBI’s EBTS, or INTERPOL’sINT-I. Note that the visual image data set is contained in Record Type-10 and theradiographic data set is contained in Record Type-22.
