ANSI/<strong>NIST</strong>-ITL 1-<strong>2011</strong> - UPDATE 2013 DRAFT VERSION8.10 Record Type-10: Facial, other body part and SMT image recordType-10 records shall contain face, SMT, and / or other body part image data and relatedin<strong>for</strong>mation pertaining to the specific image contained in this record. It shall be used toexchange both grayscale and color image data in a compressed or uncompressed <strong>for</strong>m.[2013d>] The 2013 Update includes new fields 10.034, and 10.046 through 10.050.Field 10.034 allows <strong>for</strong> a range of uncertainty as to when the image was captured.Field 10.046 describes the subject status – particularly useful <strong>for</strong> Disaster VictimIdentification (DVI), identification of Unknown Deceased and of living persons unableto identify themselves. Field 10.047 allows entry of the capture organization name(such as a Doctor's office). Field 10.048 allows data entry to describe patterned injuries(such as a possible bite mark), and Field 10.049 allows description of cheiloscopicimages (lip prints). Field 10.050 allows entry of dental visual image descriptive data(including intraoral images).New <strong>Image</strong> codes are added to Table 59 Type-10 image types.EXTRAORAL and INTRAORAL. [] Field 10.994 is added to allow external storage of an image, such as in thecloud. [] Note that non-photographic imagery is stored in a Record Type-22: Nonphotographicimagery data record.
