ANSI/<strong>NIST</strong>-ITL 1-<strong>2011</strong> - UPDATE 2013 DRAFT VERSION• The first in<strong>for</strong>mation item (IDC reference / EDC) indicates the target image<strong>for</strong> a given determination, and is used in the same way as the IDC in Field9.360: EFS area of correspondence / AOC. See Section 7.3.1.• The second in<strong>for</strong>mation item (determination / EDE) indicates a comparisonconclusion, using the “Code” column from Table 56. The allowed specialcharacter is the underscore.• The third in<strong>for</strong>mation item (work in progress / WIP) is set to“PRELIMINARY” (default) or “FINAL”. For a determination to be accepted<strong>for</strong> further processing, the status shall be set to “FINAL”. The purpose of thisis to allow saving work in progress.• The fourth in<strong>for</strong>mation item (examiner last name / ELN) is the surname(last name) of the fingerprint examiner.• The fifth in<strong>for</strong>mation item (examiner first name / EFN) is the given name(first name or first and middle names) of the fingerprint examiner.• The sixth in<strong>for</strong>mation item (examiner affiliation / EAF) is the employer ororganizational affiliation of the examiner.• The seventh in<strong>for</strong>mation item (date and time / DTG) is the date and timethat the determination was made, in terms of Greenwich Mean Time units.See Section 7.7.2.2.• The eighth in<strong>for</strong>mation item (comment / CZZ) is optional and may containtext that provides clarifying or qualifying in<strong>for</strong>mation regarding thecomparison determination.• The ninth in<strong>for</strong>mation item (complex comparison flag / CCF) is optional. Itis only used when the examiner determines that the comparison was complexas defined in Standards <strong>for</strong> examining friction ridge impressions andresulting conclusions. (See Section 3 Normative references), based on theavailable quality and quantity of features, low specificity of features,significant distortion, or disagreement among examiners. In such case, thevalue shall be set to 'COMPLEX'.
