ANSI/<strong>NIST</strong>-ITL 1-<strong>2011</strong> - UPDATE 2013 DRAFT VERSION7.7.5 Subject acquisition profile / SAP/ FAP / IAPA subject acquisition profile is used to describe a set of characteristics concerning thecapture of the biometric sample. These profiles have mnemonics SAP <strong>for</strong> face, FAP <strong>for</strong>fingerprints and IAP <strong>for</strong> iris records. SAP codes are mandatory in Type-10 records with aface image. FAP is optional in Type-14. IAP is optional in Type-17 records. The valuesdo not have the same meaning <strong>for</strong> different modalities. As is explained in the Mobile IDBest Practice Recommendation 30 , a multi-biometric capture device could, <strong>for</strong> example,have a SAP level of 42, FAP level of 45, and an IAP level of 40. With the exception ofmobile device SAP levels, the higher the value, the stronger the acquisition requirements.7.7.5.1 Subject acquisition profile <strong>for</strong> face / SAPField 10.013: Subject acquisition profile / SAP has the SAP level code <strong>for</strong> face inTable 10.
