FinishingProcedure For Application of ALEXSEAL ® Suede Primer 701 & Suede Coating 702FinishingAdditional Notes1. Clean the surface so that it is dry and free from dust, grease and contaminants.2. Prime the surface with ALEXSEAL ® Suede Primer 701. Please refer to the“Technical Data Sheets” starting on page 64 for full instructions on this product.Note:Due to the character of ALEXSEAL ® Suede Coating 702, the primer andtopcoat should be color-matched (e.g. use light primer under light topcoat).Please refer to a current ALEXSEAL ® Suede Color Card (available separately uponrequest) or the “Product Overview” starting on page 130 for colors and part numbers.3. Primer should be applied by spraying. Apply 1 cross coat to a wet film thickness(WFT) of 50-80 microns (2 mils) total thickness. A cross coat application will insurea more uniform finish.Important:Due to the variety of plastics and numerous application methods, testsmust be carried out before application and production in order to check thesubstrate’s surface and adhesion properties. Substrate tests must be also carried outregarding the thinner to be used.4. Apply 1 cross coat to a wet film thickness (WFT) of 4 - 5 mils (140 - 200 microns)total thickness. A cross coat application will insure a more uniform finish.ALEXSEAL ® Suede Coating 702 must appear glossy or wet just after being applied.It will dry to a matte finish. Large surfaces may require ALEXSEAL ® Slow Reducer(R7093). Please refer to the “Technical Data Sheets” starting on page 64 for fullinstructions on this product.Tip:Use the “Application Record” starting on page 144 to document yourapplication process, equipment settings and environmental conditions forfuture reference.
