Message to be sent<br />

Reference: Configuration options<br />

The window shows the message sent to the selected workstation when a virus or<br />

unwanted program is detected. You can edit this message. A text may contain a<br />

maximum of 500 characters.<br />

You can use the following key combinations for formatting the message:<br />

Shortcuts Description<br />

Ctrl + Tab Inserts a tab. The current line is indented by several characters to the right.<br />

Ctrl + Enter Inserts a line break.<br />

The message can include wildcards for information found during the search. These<br />

wildcards are replaced by the actual text when sent.<br />

The following wildcards can be used:<br />

Wildcard Description<br />

%VIRUS% contains the name of the detected virus or of the unwanted program<br />

%NAME% contains the name of the logged in user using the System Scanner<br />

%FILE% contains the path and file name of the affected file<br />

%COMPUTER% contains the name of the computer on which the System Scanner is<br />

running<br />

%ACTION% contains the action performed after the detection of the virus<br />

%MACADDR% contains the MAC address of the computer on which the System Scanner<br />

is running<br />

Email<br />

Default<br />

The button restores the predefined default text for an alert.<br />

With certain events, the Avira product can send alerts and messages via email to one or<br />

more recipients. This is done with the Simple Message Transfer Protocol (SMTP).<br />

The messages can be triggered by various events. The following components support<br />
