But that unlikelyscenario became reality on 26 September with the opening ofthe Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC). Officiated byMr. Donald Tsang, Chief Executive of the HKSAR, the excitingand innovative project is led by HKBU with Hong KongArts Development Council and Hong Kong Arts Centreas strategic partners.Blessed with a generous donation of HK$94.4 millionfrom The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust towardsthe renovation and part of the start-up costs, the Centrehas the full support of the Home Affairs Bureau of the HKSARGovernment.The JCCAC is a Hong Kong first: an arts centre converted from adecommissioned factory building. This vibrant hub of creativity and culturalinteraction is open throughout the year to the public.
