Liu沉 痛 悼 念 劉 融 教 授The University records with deep sorrow the passingaway of Prof. William T. Liu, former Dean of SocialSciences, on 10 October 2008 in California, USA, aftera long illness. He was 78 years of age.Prof. Liu joined the then Hong Kong BaptistCollege in 1989 as Dean of Social Sciences. Duringhis four years’ service, Prof. Liu led the Faculty througha series of important structural changes, launchingnew academic programmes and establishing researchcentres to strengthen the faculty’s academic andresearch profiles.Prof. Liu will be missed by all of us and his highlyvalued contributions to the development of theUniversity, especially the growth of the Faculty ofSocial Sciences, will In May1966, the first Hong Kong Baptist College permanent campus at WaterlooRoad was completed, named the Ho Sin Hang Campus in 1996.Today, the University has three closely-knit campuses: the Ho SinHang Campus, the Shaw Campus and the Hong Kong Baptist UniversityRoad Campus; and also Shek Mun and Kai Tak campuses. To meet thechallenges posed by implementation of the four-year university system,a major Campus Expansion Plan was launched in 2007, which will adda net floor area of nearly 27,000 square metres to the current campussize upon completion in 2012.and artistic skills in an impressive month-long show. He was 78 years of age.Prof. Liu joined the then <strong>Hong</strong> Kong BaptistCollege in 1989 as Dean of Social Sciences. Duringhis four years’ service, Prof. Liu led the Faculty througha series of important structural changes, launchingnew academic programmes <strong>and</strong> establishing researchcentres to strengthen the faculty’s academic <strong>and</strong>research profiles.Prof. Liu will be missed by all of us <strong>and</strong> his highlyvalued contributions to the development of theUniversity,
