Supratec ®<br />
Supratec Gesellschaft für Umwelt- und Verfahrenstechnik mbH produces modern high efficient<br />
aeration systems, as they are usually used for oxygen supply of biological waste water treatment.<br />
These products could also be used for any kind of gasation of liquids.<br />
®<br />
<strong>PERMOX</strong> is the brand of membrane diffusers (plate and tube) and starr-porous diffusers (plate,<br />
disc and tube) with a stainless steel body.<br />
®<br />
The <strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> membrane tube diffusers are offered in three sizes:<br />
®<br />
• <strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> 1,0<br />
®<br />
• <strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> 1,5<br />
®<br />
• <strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> 2,0<br />
The body is a stainless steel reinforced oval tube (Standard 1.4571 und 1.4301). A membrane is<br />
putted over this body.<br />
Standard membranes are made of SUPRAFORM (EPDM). Membranes made of SUPRASIL<br />
®<br />
(Silicone) or SUPRADUR (Polyurethane) are also available.<br />
The membranes have a unique slot-arrangement.The size and arrangement of those slots is<br />
optimized to archieve maximum oxygen transfer efficiency.<br />
®<br />
<strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> membrane tube diffusers are highly resistant against soiling.<br />
®<br />
<strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> membrane tube diffusers produce fine bubbles of a medium diameter < 2mm.<br />
®<br />
<strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> membrane tube diffusers can be operated intermittently.<br />
®<br />
<strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> membrane tube diffusers can be installed with stainless steel pipes and are used for<br />
all geometric forms of tanks, but they are extraordinarily good for medium and huge sized tanks.<br />
®<br />
<strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> membrane tube diffusers are well established and are working to the clients<br />
satisfaction world-wide.<br />
®<br />
<strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> membrane tube diffusers have a wide range. Minimum to maximum specific air-flow<br />
reaches from 0 - 13Nm³/h per meter.<br />
The design air flow should be approximately 8 ± 2 Nm³/mh.<br />

<strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> membrane tube diffusers can reach specific oxygen transfer efficienty up to 25<br />
gO /Nm³xm , if coverage and water depth is favourable.<br />

For plants with partly intermittent operated tanks, <strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> membrane tube diffusers can be<br />

combined with <strong>PERMOX</strong> -R / BRANDOL 60 ceramic tube diffusers. However, different pressure<br />
losses have to be considered.<br />
®<br />
Modified <strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> membrane tube diffusers are also available for drinking water purposes.<br />
®<br />
<strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> membrane tube diffusers are also available as coarse bubble diffusers.<br />

Supratec ®<br />
®<br />
<strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> membrane tube diffusers has a solid, strong body made of stainless steel and a slipped<br />
over membrane (e.g.: EPDM).<br />
The membrane is fixed by two SS ring-clamps.<br />
The body has a centrally air-pipe Ø=28 mm, one on the entire aeration length reaching surround.<br />
The body is to be out around the ends shaped.<br />
The gasket between pipe and body seals the system.<br />

<strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> membrane tube diffusers are one-piece and are installed on top of the distributionpipe.<br />
The diffusers should be stored in their packing inside a dry and aerated building. DIN 7716 has to be<br />
considered.<br />
®<br />
Before installation of the <strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> menbrane tube diffusers it has to checked that the piping<br />
system is clean.<br />
Drilling chips, dirt etc. have to be removed, as those will be transported into the diffusers as soon as<br />
blowers are set into operation causing serious damage to the diffuser membranes.<br />
®<br />
<strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> membrane tube diffusers are normally installed onto SS rectangular pipes. The<br />
piping system has to be levelled to maximum ± 10 mm.<br />
The minimum measurement of the rectangular pipes has to be 80/80 mm.<br />
®<br />
<strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> membrane tube diffuser is positioned centrally at right angles to the distributor<br />
mounted. The aeration connecting piece is inserted into the hole of diameter Ø=30mm and put the<br />
diffusers so fixed. The fixing clamp saddle will be mounted from the top to the diffuser.<br />
2 shakle screws M8 with nuts and washers will be mounted arround the rectangular pipe and tighten<br />
symmetrical.<br />
The diffuser must mounted in a horizontal way!<br />

After installation of <strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> membrane tube diffusers a function and leakage test should be<br />
carried out.<br />
The tank schould be filled with clean water up to maximum 10 cm above diffusers’ surface and the<br />
diffusers set in operation.<br />
(specific air flow: 8 Nm³/h per meter)<br />
Then function and installation can be checked and confirmed by report.<br />
®<br />
After function and installation has been checked and confirmed <strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> membrane tube<br />
diffusers have to be operated at least another 60 hours continuously, at a specific air flow of<br />
minimum 8 Nm³/h per meter.<br />
Water level shall be as quickly as possible raised up to minimum 100 cm above diffusers’ surface.<br />
IMPORTANT:<br />
• Diffusers should not stand still<br />
• Specific air flow should not exceed 11 Nm³/hm per unit.<br />

The visual judgement of the bubble distribution should not be taken before the above specified first<br />
run of diffusers.<br />
To do the visual check, the diffusers shall operate at maximum capacity and shall be turned down to<br />
the minimum.<br />
• Test of even aeration (visual bubble check) must take place when the water level is at 60-100 cm<br />
above diffusers’ surface and a specific air flow of at least 6 Nm³/h per meter.<br />
• Test of even aeration (visual bubble check) at minimum air flow can only take place if the water<br />
temperature is above 10°C.<br />
®<br />
Before the stated oxygen transfer efficiency figures of the <strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> membrane tube diffusers<br />
are proved with an oxygen transfer test the above mentioned steps have to be considered.<br />
The oxygen transfer efficiency test must be done a<strong>cc</strong>ordingly to a<strong>cc</strong>epted rules (e.g.: ATV-M209) in<br />
clean or waste water.<br />
Guarantee figures have to be controlled exactly. It is necessary to have a precise air-flow<br />
measurement system.<br />
®<br />
After su<strong>cc</strong>essful oxygen transfer efficiency test, start up of the <strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong> membrane tube<br />
diffusers may follow immediately. If there is a Postponement of the start up, care should be taken<br />
®<br />
that the water level stays at least 100 cm above diffusers’ surface to protect <strong>PERMOX</strong> -<strong>OM</strong><br />
membrane tube diffusers from sunlight and / or freezing.<br />
