Page 5How To Obtain Plan Approval & Health Permit For a Food Establishment, continuedProcess:obtaining healthpermitThis is the process for obtaining a health permit for a foodestablishmentCustomer constructsestablishment per approvedplans.Customer calls EH Plan Reviewat (916) 874-6010 to schedule aconstruction inspection and/orfinal opening inspection.EH field staff inspectsestablishment and hasowner/operator fill outapplication for health permit.EH charges a reinspection fee,if corrections require areinspectionCustomer makescorrections as per notice.Note: Corrections mayrequire a BID permit.ApprovedDisapprovedEH issues health permit.Customer is billed by mail forannual fee and reinspection fee(if applicable).EH inspectionrequirementsFees forEnvironmentalHealth permitThe establishment must be built according to approved plan. Inaddition, all construction must be finished and the equipmentinstalled and operational prior to calling for your health permitinspection from EH.
