Their request of Butler: that helead a 500,000 strong force of rogue veterans in a coup against FDR and the legal American government. The intent ofthis cabal, already supporting the efforts of Hitler and Mussolini in Europe, was to instill a government not unlike that ofHitler and Mussolini in the United States. Butler went along with the scheme until he was able to ascertain who theparticipants were. He then blew the whistle on this group before the House Committee on un-American Activities. The cabal was never brought to justice, but the coup was foiled. And among the participants in this coup attempt was one Prescott Bush (who is the father of George HerbertWalker Bush, 41st president of the United States, and thus is the grandfather of George W Bush, current president of theUnited States). Prescott Bush was not only instrumental in bringing Hitler to power in Germany, Mussolini to power inItaly, but was also plotting to overthrow the legal government of the United States and establish a fascist state here.Prescott Bush served as a Senator from Connecticut and was a partner in the prominent investment banking firm BrownBrothers Harriman.US General Smedley Butler wrote in his 1935 classic, “War Is a Racket”: "I helped make Mexico safe for American oilinterests in 1914," "I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in.
