Elo trainedwith the Finnish National Ballet Schooland the Kirov Ballet School in Leningrad.Prior to joining Netherlands Dans Theaterin 1990, he danced with Finnish NationalBallet from 1978 through 1984, and withCullberg Ballet from 1984 to 1990. Elo,who was named resident choreographerof Boston Ballet in 2005, was singledout as a “talent to follow” by AnnaKisselgoff in her 2004 Year in Review forThe New York Times; it was an astuteobservation. He has since created numerousworks in the U.S. and internationally,including works for the New York CityBallet, American Ballet Theatre, BostonBallet, Royal Danish Ballet, Finnish NationalBallet, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, andFrom All Sides for <strong>Hubbard</strong> Street DanceChicago.
