Scalability, Load Balancingand ArchitectureApplication example:SeeTec 5 takes a modular andnetwork-based approach. Allfunctions are organised into modules thatcommunicate with each other over TCP/IP.By implementing multiple installations ondistributed servers, the system can bescaled almost infinitely. The remoteservers can be installed at different locationsas required, e.g. regional offices.A typical application example: AnyCompany Ltd has its headquarterswith production and stores near toRotterdam, Netherlands. There is aregional office in Basel, Switzerlandwith a large logistics centre and asales and training centre in Munich,Germany.The complete video surveillancesystem consists of several distributedservers and workstations. SeeTec 5 offersinterfaces to many solutions from the areasof building management and access controlas well as intrusion and fire detection systems.This makes it possible, for example,to visualise alarm data from SeeTec 5 inthird-party control centre systems. They handle thestorage of the images from all the camerasin Basel. Additionally, there are severalwireless WLAN cameras installed in Basleat the main vehicle access point, which areintegrated in SeeTec 5. The security staff atthe gatehouse in Rotterdam don’t just haveaccess to these cameras, they can alsocontrol and zoom them.
